What is Relative Temperature Index?
Relative Thermal Index (RTI) is a long-term (6000-20,000 hours) operating temperature test performed by UL on materials, the so-called long-term heat resistance.
The long-term aging degree of plastic materials at high temperature will greatly affect the decomposition and degradation, and the performance of the material will deteriorate with high temperature. This largely depends on the properties of the high-molecular polymer, since decomposition, degradation and deterioration are caused by the chemical reaction of the high-molecular polymer.
The relative thermal index (RTI) in UL can be used to judge the long-term heat resistance of polymers. The higher the RTI value, the higher the grade of the material.
