What is TPR Lagging Two-Shot Processing
TPE/TPR has both the elasticity of rubber and the thermoplasticity of plastic. Through different processing methods, it can be widely used in various industries. For some plastic products that need a soft touch, soft TPE/TPR is used for encapsulation. Two-color (multi-color) injection molding is used for secondary injection (the main body of the primary injection must be taken out of the mold and then placed in another set of molds for secondary molding and overmolding) as a common processing method.
Two-color mold or overmolding mold is usually a composite molding of hard and soft rubber. In theory, almost any kind of plastic can be used as the choice of hard glue; but in fact, considering the adhesiveness of soft glue and hard glue, the selection of hard glue should be considered.
Before encapsulation, the compatibility between TPE/TPR and the encapsulated material must be confirmed, and the two materials must be tightly bonded together to ensure that the product will not degumming or delaminated when use.
